Lilly the beautiful Bull Arab was in a bad way when Inspector Helen paid her owner a visit.
Working with Lilly’s owners, Helen expressed her concern regarding Lilly’s condition and knew that she needed urgent veterinary treatment from experts. Subsequently she was surrendered to RSPCA Queensland.
Lilly had wounds on her hind needing treatment, with the condition of her body being described as “shocking”. She only weighed 18 kilograms, with her ideal weight being double that!
The vet team got to work to save Lilly and discovered that she also had tapeworm and a Urinary Tract Infection. This poor girl had been through so much.
Following extensive and thorough treatment, she melted the hearts of RSPCA staff and volunteers on her road to recovery.
While on a feeding plan and receiving veterinary care for her many ailments, Lilly spent some quality time in one of the RSPCA offices. Every day when she was trotting from her kennel into the office she would zip around the place with joy; frequently displaying a treat in her mouth for all to see!
Now, a full year on from her adoption, Lilly has formed an unbreakable bond with her two young human siblings and doggy brother. What her story!
Thanks to your generosity, we can continue our vital work and make a real difference in the lives of animals just like Lilly. Together, we can create a better future for animals in need.
