When Luca first arrived at the RSPCA he was just 12 weeks old.
An English Staffie x Cattle Dog, he was still so young and figuring out the world around him. He came in alongside a litter of other puppies, each one in need of care, safety, and a second chance to be loved.
But it didn’t take long for Luca to steal hearts. For Lyds and her family, the search for a furry new addition had been going on for a while.
“Me and my brother had been begging my mum for a puppy for ages,” Lyds shared.
So when they met Luca, something just clicked. From that very first moment, they knew he was meant to be part of their family. Luca didn’t just find a home, he found his place.
The connection to the RSPCA runs even deeper for the family. Lyds’ mum, Sarah, runs the RSPCA QLD corporate experience days - helping more people connect with the important work being done to care for and protect animals just like Luca.
Joining the family as a little brother to their older Staffie, Poppy, Luca quickly settled into his new life, surrounded by love, playtime, and plenty of attention.
And it didn’t take long for his personality to shine.
“He is great, everyone loves him! Luca's personality is very, very energetic and he just loves being around us.” Lyds said.
Full of life and always ready for fun, Luca brings endless joy to everyone he meets.
Now an RSPCA volunteer, Lyds understands just how powerful a second chance can be, especially for animals who haven’t had the best start but are given the opportunity to live a life full of love.
With his big happy smile and boundless energy, Luca was a natural star on-set and stepped seamlessly into his role as fur-bassador for RSPCA Lottery No. 91.
From exploring the Toyota Prado to getting comfy inside the Sunrise Caravan, Luca made himself right at home - just as you’d expect.
And when it was time for a beach adventure? Let’s just say… he was in his element.
Luca’s story is a powerful reminder. Today, Luca is exactly where he belongs - happy, loved, and living his best life. But there are still so many animals waiting for their own happy ending.
When you enter the RSPCA Lottery, you’re not just in the running for an incredible prize - you’re helping provide animals with food, shelter, veterinary care and love when they need it the most.
