Meet Luffy | From Lost and Alone to Loved Forever

When nine-month-old Border Collie Luffy was found wandering the streets alone, his future was uncertain. Thankfully, the RSPCA rescue ambulance team came to his aid before he could come to any harm.

After safely bringing him back to the shelter, staff discovered that Luffy was microchipped and were able to contact his owner. 

Sadly, despite knowing he was safe, Luffy's owner made the difficult decision to surrender him for rehoming - something they had already been trying to do before he was found.

Before Luffy could begin searching for his forever family, our dedicated veterinary and animal care teams ensured he was desexed, vaccinated, and received comprehensive health and behavioural assessments to prepare him for the next exciting chapter of his life.

In Queensland, it costs an average of $38 per day to care for a dog at the RSPCA.

Every dollar spent gives vulnerable animals like Luffy the care, rehabilitation and second chance they deserve - made possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters.

Like many Border Collies, Luffy is bursting with energy and enthusiasm. Our team knew he needed more than just a home - he needed the right home.

One that could provide plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation and, most importantly, lots of love.

It didn't take long for Luffy's cheeky personality to win people over. Before long, he found his perfect match, with his new family delighted to welcome him into their lives.
