When you purchase an RSPCA Lottery ticket, you’re doing more than entering for the chance to win incredible prizes - you’re helping give animals in need the care, treatment and second chances they deserve.
Stories like Shenzi’s are only possible because of supporters like you.
At only a few weeks old, Shenzi and her seven siblings were found dumped in a box on a remote property in Victoria. Shenzi was the smallest of the litter – and the must vulnerable.
Once in the care of RSPCA Victoria, it was immediately clear there was an issue with her left eye, as well as many paw deformities. Due to a condition called Syndactyly, the digits in both her hind paws and right front paw were fused together.
Our veterinary team carefully mapped out a treatment plan which included surgery to amputate part of a toe to relieve her pain. She later required a second surgery to separate the fused digits in her paws.
During her extensive treatments, Shenzi was placed in volunteer foster care with one of our experienced carers, who diligently worked with Shenzi on daily massages, stretching sessions, and hydrotherapy.
After 295 days in care, Shenzi was finally ready for her forever home.
When Shenzi’s new family came in, it was immediately a perfect match.
She is now living her dream on a large property with two working dog siblings, living the active lifestyle she needs, with lots of love and support.
Shenzi’s journey, from vulnerable puppy to thriving family companion was made possible by the compassion of supporters like you.
You could win incredible prizes - and animals like Shenzi win a second chance.
Playing never felt so good.
