Pet Supporter Winner Story | When Lightning Struck Twice

Every so often, a story comes along that feels almost too lucky to be true - and this one belongs to one of our wonderful Pet Supporters, Alex. 

A few months ago, Alex was delighted to learn he had won a $1,000 gift card in one of our weekly Pet Supporter draws. Wanting to keep it secure, he tucked it away in a safe place. As Alex recalled “so safe, in fact, that when I finally went to use it, I couldn’t find it. I was pretty disappointed.”

His disappointment quickly turned into disbelief when the RSPCA Lottery team phoned once more – with news of another Pet Supporter prize draw.

“To my absolute astonishment, I was told I’d won again - this time, $10,000 worth of gold bullion! It was my second win in just two months” Alex said. “I was stunned.” 

But Alex’s lucky streak wasn’t over.

Just a few days later, while flipping through his work diary, something caught Alex’s eye.

“I found the missing gift card - firmly stuck between the pages, still attached to the glue from the original letter it arrived with. It felt like I had won for the third time!’ Alex recalled.  

Alex has since used the rediscovered gift card for everyday purchases - and made sure to treat himself and his wife to a lovely dinner out to celebrate. As for the gold bullion, Alex and his wife made a practical plan for their winnings.

“We decided to convert it into cash and put it toward paying down our mortgage” Alex said.

A very happy ending to a streak of good fortune!
